Maserati has issued a recall alert affecting just 409 cars, but at least one of every model the company has built for the last two model years. The cars may have a fuel line sensor housing that can crack and leak.
In a best-case scenario, the leak could rob an engine of power as fuel leaks out rather than making it to the cylinders. In a worst-case scenario, it could cause a vehicle fire.
The recall notice applies to 274 2021-2022 Levante SUVs, 88 2021 Ghibli sedans, 43 2021 Quattroporte sedans, and all of four 2022 MC20 supercars. Maserati says it stopped using the suspect part mid-way through the production run of the vehicles. So, the recall includes only certain examples of each model.
Dealers will replace the fuel line sensor housing, free of charge. Recall repairs are always free. Check whether your car has ever been recalled at our recall center.
