Honda is recalling nearly 1.7 million vehicles because the steering system may become stuck and cause a crash. The vehicles affected include the Acura Integra, Honda CR-V, HR-V, and Civic, Honda tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The steering issue is caused by a faulty steering gearbox assembly. The defect causes excessive friction, which can make it difficult to steer.
Dealers will replace the affected assembly. Owner notification letters will be mailed starting November 18, 2024. By law, all recall repair work is done free of charge to the owner.

Carmakers try to notify the owners of recalled vehicles, but those efforts aren’t always 100% effective. To check if your car is part of a recall, try our easy VIN check tool in our recall center.
