Ram Recalls Cargo Vans Over Steering Issue

2026-Ram-Promaster-Cargo-Van

Stellantis is recalling more than 265,000 Ram ProMaster cargo vans because the electric power steering may fail.

This recall covers 2022-2026 Ram ProMaster vans with electric power steering. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA), water may seep into the steering system and damage electrical wiring. This could cause drivers to lose control if the power steering cuts out, which raises the risk of a crash. Steering takes more effort without the assistance of power.

Stellantis reports one crash related to this safety issue, but no injuries.

The remedy is for owners to take the cargo van to an authorized dealership where it will be inspected, and the wiring harness will be replaced if necessary. The new harnesses are better sealed to prevent water seepage or intrusion.

If your van’s steering feels heavy or a warning light illuminates on your dash, take your vehicle to the nearest dealership as soon as possible.

Owners will be notified beginning Nov. 17.
