Porsche has added a new coupe-inspired roofline to its range topping Cayenne SUV. Joining the long list of German luxury makes offering the sleek styling, the 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe and Cayenne Turbo Coupe features a fixed glass panoramic roof to add light to the 4-passenger cabin. A carbon fiber roof insert is an available option.
“The significantly more steep roof line that falls away to the rear makes the Cayenne Coupe appear even more dynamic, and positions it as the sportiest-looking model in the segment,” said Michael Mauer, Porsche’s vice president of design. The rakish line is accentuated by a roof-mounted spoiler and a shallower windshield and A-pillar design. The roof of the new coupe is nearly one inch lower than the standard Cayenne.

The new roofline also requires redesigned rear doors and quarter panels that give the Cayenne Coupe more muscular haunches. The license plate holder has been incorporated into the bumper, which also gives the new Cayenne Coupe a hunkered-down look.
Two models
The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe is available in a standard model with a 335-horsepower single turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 332 lb-ft of torque or in the more powerful Turbo Coupe which has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 making 541 horsepower and 567 lb-ft of torque. Porsche says the V6 model accelerates to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds with a top speed of 151 mph, while the V8 sprints to 60 in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 178 mph.

The new Coupe rides on 20-inch wheels and comes with Porsche Active Suspension Management and Sport Chrono Package as standard equipment. Also included are 8-way power seats, while the Turbo benefits from 18-way adaptive power sport seats. Despite the coupe roofline, the Cayenne still has 22 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, which expands to 54.3 with the rear seat folded. The Turbo is slightly less at 21.2 and 53.3 cubic feet.
The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe and Turbo Coupe are expected to arrive in dealerships this fall. Pricing starts at $75,300 for the V6 model and $130,100 for the V8 turbo. Pricing excludes $1,250 delivery.
