Nissan Recalls Vehicles for Doors That Won’t Close Correctly

Nissan has recalled 26,432 vehicles due to a defect affecting door closure. Affected models include some, but not all:

A report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) states that “certain Nissan vehicles may have been equipped with one or more door strikers that were improperly welded during the supplier’s manufacturing process.”

If this affected part breaks, it may cause the door to open while driving. In the case of a crash, this could increase the risk of injury to the driver and/or passengers. You may hear a rattling noise from the door striker if one side of the wire is cracked; if both sides are cracked, there may be no warning before failure.

Nissan is not aware of any warranty claims, accidents, or injuries related to this recall.

Nissan dealers will remedy this situation by replacing all door strikers with new parts. It should take less than half an hour to complete.

This service is free of charge, as recall repairs always are.

Owners with affected vehicles will be notified beginning March 13, 2026.

Millions of cars are recalled, sometimes more than once. While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they don’t always reach everyone. To check whether your vehicle might be subject to a recall, use the easy tool at our recall center. All you need is your VIN number, license plate, or year, make, and model of your car to get started.
