Nissan Recalls Rogue Over Potential Loss of Power

Nissan is recalling 318,781 Rogue compact SUVs from model years 2024 and 2025, as the gears in the electric throttle body may break and ultimately lead to the vehicle being unable to drive.

According to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “A fractured gear could interfere with other internal ETC gears, potentially leading to a loss of motive power (LOMP) and preventing forward or reverse gear engagement upon restart, increasing the risk of a crash.”

Dealers will fix the issue by reprogramming the software, and inspecting and replacing the electronic throttle body assembly as necessary. Like all recall remedies, this repair is free.

Owners may contact Nissan’s customer service at 800-647-7261 for more information. Nissan’s numbers for this recall are R25E2 and R25E3.

Millions of cars are recalled, sometimes more than once. While automakers do their best to notify every vehicle owner affected by a recall, they don’t always reach everyone. To check whether your vehicle might be subject to a recall, use the easy tool at our recall center. All you need is your VIN, license plate, or year, make, and model of your car to get started.
