The aging 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer doesn’t break any ground in the compact sedan segment, but it does offer a sportier driving experience and all-wheel-drive capability that stands out in its largely front-wheel-drive, economy-first class. While Mitsubishi has moved away from the hardcore sport compact car market, this compact sedan will still give the driver a little more performance for their money. While Subaru is known for cornering the market on all-wheel-drive cars, there is another choice: the Lancer is also available with AWD. The Lancer’s All Wheel Control system comes standard on all Lancers except on the base ES with the 2.0-liter engine.
