Mercedes Recalls Some AMG E-Class Sedans

Mercedes-Benz has recalled 117 AMG E53 4Matic sedans from model year 2025 because they can suddenly lose driver power due to an electrical problem.

The company tells federal safety officials that, “Due to a deviation in the development and production processes,” a transmission wiring harness may rub against the front drive shaft. The resulting wear can cause the harness to separate, resulting in a sudden power loss.

Dealers will reroute the harness and replace it if necessary to fix the problem.

By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.

Manufacturers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Discover if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
