Mercedes-Benz has recalled 3,734 2025 G-Class G 580 electric SUVs due to loose wheel bolts.
According to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there was a deviation in the development process, causing the bolts to fail to withstand the increased torque and mass of the electric G-Class, which is officially named the G 580 with EQ Technology. The bolts could potentially loosen while driving, increasing instability and the risk of a crash.
There are no reports of injuries or death related to this issue in the U.S.
To rectify the issue, Mercedes-Benz dealers will replace the bolts with the new bolt variant. As with all recalls, the fix is free.
