Lexus has released an image of a vehicle that it says represents a "future vision of progressive luxury." This mystery car is thought to be a precursor of the next LS Sedan, which is due to for a major changeover within 12 months.

The debut of this one-off at the Tokyo Motor Show coincides with the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the Lexus brand, which began with the U.S. arrival of the LS flagship. While little has been confirmed about the fifth generation flaship, the upcoming LS remake is expected to match edgier styling and a greater selection of comfort/convenience/safety features with conventional and hybrid powertrain. A fuel-cell version is also rumored.
