Lexus LC Gets Retuned Suspension, New Price

The 2023 Lexus LC from a front quarter angleThe rarified world of luxury sports cars is something like competition between Olympic track athletes. You can train your entire life to make yourself jump farther than almost anyone in history and barely get noticed because you’re only the fourth-best long jumper on the planet.

Likewise, you can add a quarter of an inch to your jump and make the medal stand instead of being forgotten.

When every automaker throws all of their engineering know-how into producing the most extraordinary car they possibly can, even the also-rans are among the most capable machines ever built. So engineers fight for that quarter inch.

This is a long way of telling you that Lexus has retuned the suspension of the 2023 Lexus LC.

If you find yourself asking, “What’s a Lexus LC?” then you get our point.

The Lexus LC is a gorgeous 2-door grand tourer with a 4.4-second 0-60 mph time (properly equipped) and nearly every luxury the world’s largest automaker can build. It can be had with either a 5.0-liter V8 engine or a V6 hybrid powertrain that returns up to 34 mpg. It competes with better-known cars like the Porsche 911 and does it at a lower price than many. It’s possibly the most extreme car a Toyota company has ever built.

You can buy it as a coupe or convertible, either one overflowing with luxury and wrapped in arresting bodywork.

For 2023, Lexus engineers have retuned its suspension. The changes, Lexus says, should provide “enhanced ground contact feel, linear steering response, and steering effectiveness in the high cornering G range.” That extra quarter-inch.

The only other change for 2023 is that larger 21-inch wheels are now included in the optional Sport Package. It also adds a limited-slip differential, upgraded brake pads, and grippy Alcantara faux-suede upholstery.
