- Lexus will continue its slow-selling luxurious grand tourer into 2026
- A hybrid model disappears from the lineup
The Lexus LC is one of the loveliest cars on the road, but we worry for it.
An achingly beautiful grand tourer, the LC comes in coupe or convertible form. It offers a sumptuous interior, driving dynamics that can be sedate or astounding depending on your mood, and the unassailable quality of a product Lexus has refined for years.
But its high price and limited practicality keep it rare. Last month, Lexus sold just 65 of the things in the U.S. So we constantly expect its cancellation.
This week, Lexus announced plans for the 2026 LC. It will exist for at least another year. Coupe models will start at $101,700 including destination fee. Convertibles will start at $109,200 delivered.
Buyers lose some choices. Lexus has discontinued a hybrid edition (in the U.S.) after selling just eight copies in all of 2024.
However, the V8-powered coupe and convertible will stay in production for 2026.
Inspiration Series Returns
- Two special-edition Inspiration Series versions, one coupe and one convertible, will arrive in limited numbers
Lexus will offer a pair of limited-edition Inspiration Series models for 2026. A coupe edition, limited to 200 units in North America, comes in Smoke Matte Gray with a white and black interior. It gets a carbon fiber roof and 21-inch matte black forged alloy wheels. Darkened exterior elements include the grille, mirror housings, and rocker panel garnishes.
“In addition, the package comes standard with a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, a Mark Levinson sound system, special door scuff plates, front bumper canards, a carbon fiber rear fixed spoiler, red brake calipers, Active Rear Steering and a unique serialized badge on the center console,” Lexus says.
Lexus will send 350 copies of the Inspiration Series convertible stateside. They look entirely different, in a soft gray Lexus calls Wind with an interior in saddle tan and white. Convertible models also get a limited-slip rear differential and rear performance rod.
The Lexus Bespoke Build experience returns for both models, letting buyers “customize their vehicle with a mix of performance and styling components including wheels, spoiler, roof and exterior/interior trim and color.” Each one-of-one Bespoke Build model comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the LC’s chief engineer.
