The Kia Telluride is our top-rated 3-row midsize SUV and the segment’s reigning Best Buy Award winner. And it’s getting even better for 2023. Let’s see how.
New X-Line and X-Pro Models for the 2023 Telluride
Headlining the updates for the 2023 Kia Telluride, the new X-Line and X-Pro models add off-road capability and style, as well as upgraded towing functions including sway control and an upgraded traction control system.
Based around the same core set of modifications, the X-Pro’s main advantage over the X-Line is an additional 500 pounds of towing capacity, bringing the total to 5,500 pounds. The X-Pro also gets a 110-volt inverter outlet in the cargo area, exclusive 18-inch black wheels with Continental all-terrain tires, and X-Pro badging and embossing. Both models also get a special grille design, body-color door handles, exclusive color packages, and more. The X-Line comes with 20-inch wheels, trading the X-Pro’s off-road grip for style.
Larger 12.3-inch Navigation Display
Fans of road trips will appreciate the new 12.3-inch central navigation display, upgraded from the previous 10.25-inch unit. The new system brings with it optional access to truly smart features, including Kia Connect services’ stolen vehicle tracking and immobilization, in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot over 4G LTE, over-the-air updates for maps and infotainment software, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant integration, and more.
Enhanced Driver Assistance Technology
The Kia Telluride already offered a long list of active and advanced driver assistance technology, including forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Highway Driving Assist, and more. For 2023, another long list of safety features joins the standard and optional equipment configurations.
New standard driver assistance tech includes Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, which uses speed limit sign recognition to alert the driver. Forward Collision-Avoidance – Junction Turning is also now standard for the 2023 Kia Telluride, helping detect crossing vehicles at an intersection, and automatically braking if necessary. Also included on every Telluride, Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control – Curve can reduce the vehicle’s speed in anticipation of curves.
The optional Highway Driving Assist 2 expands the Highway Driving Assist 1.5 system that comes as standard equipment to include lane changes as well as adaptive following. A host of new forward collision assistance features are also now available.
Updated Exterior Design for the 2023 Kia Telluride
A new design for the standard LED headlights distinguishes the 2023 Telluride from its predecessors, as do new bumpers, a new grille, updated taillights, new wheel designs, and three new exterior colors: Midnight Lake Blue, Dawning Red, and Jungle Wood Green.
