The EV6 sits on the same platform as Hyundai’s new Ioniq 5 electric crossover and will likely be priced to compete with the Ford Mustang Mach E.
Kia hasn’t revealed prices for most editions of the EV6. But the company began accepting orders for a special First Edition, available only at launch. It carried an asking price of $58,500 for the brief, 24-hour window when it was available. All 1,500 EV6 first editions, Kia says, sold out in a single day after the automaker began taking reservations.
The First Edition EV6 is an AWD, dual-motor version in Urban Yellow with black seats, Glacier White with dark green seats, or Steel Gray Matte with black seats. Each carries special badging identifying it as one of 1,500, an augmented reality head-up display, Remote Smart Parking Assist, a sunroof, 20-inch wheels, and a premium 14-speaker Meridian audio system.
Without the special badging, all of that equipment will be available on other versions of the EV6. But the Urban Yellow color will not. We’ll bring pricing on other versions of the EV6 when we have it.
