Jeep has recalled 11,767 Wagoneer S SUVs from model years 2024-2026 because a hinge cover on their rear liftgates can fall off and become a road hazard.
The company tells federal safety regulators the hinge cover may have “insufficient design tolerances” and not be properly clipped in place. Drivers might hear a rattling noise if theirs is loose.
Jeep knows of at least 32 field reports of loose covers.
Dealers will inspect the part and replace it if necessary to fix the problem.
By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
Manufacturers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Discover if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
