Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Anniversary Editions Boost Off-Road Skills, Price

The least-expensive 2023 Jeep Wrangler starts at a little over $31,000. The most expensive now costs more than $110,000.

That figure will get you a limited-edition anniversary special.

The anniversary Jeep is celebrating is the debut of the Wrangler Rubicon edition 20 years ago. The 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Anniversary Editions get a redesigned version of Jeep’s signature 7-slot grille, with unique meshwork inside, protected by a 3-hoop grille guard. An integrated front trail camera and steel rock rails are also unique to the package, plus obligatory 20th-anniversary badges.

The package is available on V8-powered 392 editions or the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Wrangler 4xe. PHEV models ride on 33-inch tires and get a half-inch suspension lift. 392 models also get a half-inch lift and 35-inch rubber.

Jeep will offer a more-exclusive level of anniversary celebration with the help of American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). AEV’s 20^th Anniversary Level II package will be limited to just 150 units in total. Buyers can add it to either the 392 or the 4xe. It adds 37-inch tires, a Warn winch, an AEV custom suspension setup, skid plates, off-road lighting, and other AEV-branded gear.

AEV says it makes “the most capable Wrangler ever,” with some truly impressive angles:

• 14.2 inches of ground clearance
• 37.1 inches of water fording
• 50-degree approach angle
• 33-degree breakover angle
• 43-degree departure angle

The only thing more amazing might be the price. The package adds $21,983 to the 4xe and $20,135 to the 392 model.

Jeep also charges a $1,795 destination fee to all Wranglers. AEV charges its own $995 “upfit logistics” fee on top of Jeep’s delivery charge.
