Hyundai has recalled 226,118 vehicles because their rearview cameras may not display an image. The recall covers only cars built on certain dates. But many automakers make it difficult to determine the build date of your car on your own.
Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2021-2022 Hyundai Elantra
- 2021-2022 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid
- 2022 Hyundai Elantra N
- 2021-2022 Hyundai Santa Fe
- 2021-2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid
- 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid
Hyundai tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that soldering on a printed circuit board in the cameras can come loose over time, making them inoperative.
Dealers will replace the cameras to fix the problem. By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
Carmakers try to notify the owners of recalled vehicles, but those efforts aren’t always 100% effective. To check if your car has any outstanding recalls, try our easy VIN check tool in our recall center.
