Future Vision: The ‘retrofuturistic’ realm of Nelson Barros

Offering his take on how a series of classic vehicles might appear as if they were still being produced today, the former design director for General Motors Brasil has rendered a series of "what if" sketches that put a new spin on the original styling themes of each. Barros, who retired from GM do Brazil in 2006 now heads an independent design consultancy in Sao Paolo. Among the many subject vehicles he recast using his unique blend of "retrofuturistic" cues are a "bullet nose" 1950 Studebaker Commander, the elegant 1951 Jaguar XK120 Coupe and a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette.
