Ford and its Lincoln luxury division recalled 174,853 vehicles because devices that reflect wind away from their moonroofs can fly off and become a traffic hazard.
Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2021-2022 Ford Expedition
- 2021-2022 Lincoln Navigator
- 2021-2023 Ford F-150
- 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty
- 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty
- 2022 Ford F-450 Super Duty
The company tells federal safety officials that “the moonroof wind deflector clips may be inadequately attached to the moonroof frame, which can result in the wind deflector detaching from the vehicle.”
The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem, but is aware of two incidents in which a wind deflector struck a driver.
Dealers will inspect the wind deflector and repair the clips as necessary to resolve the issue.
By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.
Manufacturers recall many cars, often more than once, during their lifespan. Automakers try to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all. Discover if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls with the easy-to-use vehicle identification number (VIN) tool at our recall center.
