Ford EcoBoost 1.0-liter voted International Engine of the Year

Repeating its achievement from 2012, Ford‘s 1.0-liter/3-cylinder EcoBoost gasoline engine has been named International Engine of the Year by a panel of 85 journalists from 35 countries. Currently found in a variety of the automaker’s global products and set to make its first appearance in the 2014 Ford Fiesta here, this compact, lightweight and highly efficient motivator won out over a stellar field of competitors by the largest margin in the event’s 15-year history. In addition to being selected as best overall motivator, Ford’s 1.0-liter EcoBoost also claimed laurels in the Sub 1-liter categories. Previously, it had been named Best Engine Under 1.0-liter by Engine Technology International magazine.
