The Chevrolet Tahoe will get a $500 price bump for the 2023 model year. Price increases on popular cars are never great news, but these deserve some context. Inflation alone could have pushed the price of the SUV higher.
GM Authority has the pricing list, which the company hasn’t formally announced yet. But the site’s pricing reports have proven accurate in the past, so we trust the numbers are real.
The 2023 Tahoe, the site reports, will start at $52,500, plus a $1,795 destination fee. It will top out at $76,100 plus the same shipping and handling charge.
In both cases, the bump is less than a 1% price increase despite inflation of more than 9% economy-wide since last June, according to the Consumer Price Index.
There are few other changes for the vehicle. GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driver assist system will be available on the Premier and High Country trims, though Chevy hasn’t named a price for it.
The Tahoe is well-reviewed for its spacious cabin and a sophisticated suspension that lets it ride comfortably when unladen and handle well when towing a load. But it lost out on our Best Buy Award in the full-size SUV class. The rival Ford Expedition took that prize with its lower starting price and higher tow rating.
