Cheaper Cybertruck Appears Fleeting — for Now

2025 Tesla Cybertruck from driver's side profile.

Last week, it was reported that a cheaper Tesla Cybertruck would be available. Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed on X that this deal would only be around for “the next 10 days” as of Feb. 20.

The “most affordable Cybertruck yet” starts at $62,235 (including order and destination fees). Features include:

  • Dual motor AWD
  • 325 estimated miles of range
  • Heated first row seats
  • Towing capacity up to 7,500 pounds
  • Powered tonneau cover
  • Coil springs with adaptive damping
  • Steer-by-wire and four-wheel steering

When asked on X how much the Cybertruck will be after the 10-day window has passed, Musk answered, “Depends on how much demand we see at this price level.”

This response has many wondering if this is just a demand test. It is questionable whether a 10-day window and messaging on X are enough to truly gauge market interest. Tesla’s website does say, “Price increases after February 28,” on the Cybertruck page, but no other major marketing push has been done to promote this limited-time deal.

Drive Tesla Canada points out that creating this sense of urgency can distort the bigger picture. Buyers on the fence about getting a Cybertruck may cave to artificial pressure: “If the goal is to gather clean demand data at this price point, the imposed deadline complicates the equation. Orders during the window could reflect urgency-driven behavior rather than organic demand. Conversely, some buyers may sit out entirely because they don’t trust the stability of the pricing.”

Price drops on the Cybertruck aren’t new. The Cyberbeast trim, Cybertruck’s most expensive, dropped from $114,990 to $99,990 recently ($117,235 and $102,235 with destination and order fees).

For those wanting to own this unique truck, now may be the time to act.
