After announcing its intent in Geneva to return to the automotive business after more than a half century on the sidelines, Borgward will unveil a new crossover at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Originally a German marque that specialized in upscale small cars, the revitalized Borgward reportedly has backing from several organizations — including Chinese truck maker Beiqi Fotor Motor — and plans to introduce two to three new vehicles per year with an eye towards creating a full product line.

Although yet to reveal its name, execs have confirmed the first new-era Borgward will be an "accessible premium" crossover seen here testing earlier this year at the Nurburgring. Production is expected to begin sometime next year.
