BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe Gets Cheaper, Front-Wheel Drive Variant

2020 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe

The BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe hasn’t even been on the market long, and already the German automaker is making a significant change to the lineup. The car, previously available only in an all-wheel drive model, will soon be offered in front-drive at significant savings.

Front-wheel drive Gran Coupes will come at an asking price of $36,695. This is about $2,000 less than the AWD drive edition. That doesn’t quite make this the least-expensive BMW, but it’s close. You can still claim an X1 crossover for $36,395 in front-drive.

BMW claims the new model will be 0.3 seconds slower to 60 mph than the current car, but that’s a difference many drivers would barely notice. Our editors find the 2-Series to be nimble, and provide a lot of luxury for its price.
