- Audi will give its A6 sedan a tech update in the middle of the 2026 model year.
- The S6 high-performance version, however, has been canceled for 2026.
The 2026 Audi A6 TFSI will receive a significant mid-model year update. These upgrades include an all-new MMI (multimedia interface) design, an updated multifunction steering wheel, an optional contoured seat, new drive-select functionality, an optional integrated dashcam, expanded driver-assistance features, upgraded voice-control capabilities, and extended connectivity. A6 Software Updates
An all-new digital design language for the three displays (what the company calls Audi Digital Stage) creates a more consistent appearance and familiar touchpoints across the myAudi app interfaces. The software update also includes a 3D model of the vehicle shown uniformly across the digital displays.
The center MMI touch display will show fewer lists in favor of more graphics. Background colors and color-coded display of third-party apps all help minimize distractions and differentiate between active and inactive apps.
The driver-centered Audi cockpit display features reduced icons and a clearer structure to simplify its operation. The steering wheel view button now toggles through three unique views. Users can now mirror their smartphone’s navigation, media, and telephone functions directly into the Audi virtual cockpit digital instrument cluster.
Support for an independent Bluetooth headset will play audio content for the passenger while gaming, playing videos, or browsing the internet.

Audi S6 Reportedly Gone
While the A6 is getting an update, its S6 high-performance equivalent is reportedly gone.
Multiple media outlets report that a new version of the higher-performing midsize luxury sedan is not destined for the U.S., nor is it mentioned in Audi’s press materials on the A6 updates. This news comes after the S6 has been noticeably absent from Audi’s websites and media.
