2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport refreshed and revised

Gaining a more expressive face and selection of new features, the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport was unveiled in Los Angeles. Keynote change to Mitsubishi's best-selling model is its new Dynamic Shield front fascia/grille treatment, a look that brings it into line with the automaker's other SUV models. Other exterior changes to the Outlander Sport include power folding mirrors with LED turn signal indicators, wheel-lip moldings and new 18-inch alloy wheel designs as well as a trio of new exterior colors: Cool Silver, Diamond White Pearl and Quartz Brown.

Inside, the Outlander Sport gets a redesigned multifunction steering wheel, a new 6.1-inch Display Audio system, revised seat trims and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink. No changes are due in the powertrain department for either front- or AWD versions of this 5-passenger SUV. Engine choices will continue to be a 148-horsepower/2.0-liter and a 168-horse/2.4-liter MIVEC 4-cylinder paired with a CVT automatic in all but the base front-drive ES that comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. Arriving in showrooms later this year, starting price for the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport will remain at $20,445.
