After entering a whole new generation last year, Toyota’s RAV4 lineup receives only modest updates for 2027, with the Woodland trim and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models receiving the bulk of the changes.
The Price Increase
The 2027 RAV4 carries a modest $400 price increase over the 2026 model. This isn’t out of the norm; cars tend to see their prices climb a few hundred dollars with each new model year. Including the $1,595 destination fee, the 2027 models start at $33,895 for the hybrid and $43,695 for the plug-in hybrid.

The notable updates across the entire lineup include a new rearview camera washer, an increase in the Remote Connect trial from one to five years, and AWD models now feature Multi-Terrain Select with Rock & Dirt and Mud & Sand settings, replacing the previous Trail mode.
Woodland Gets a More Capable Suspension
The Woodland trim has been updated to be more capable on rough terrain thanks to a revised suspension with new springs, shocks, and jounce bumpers. This raises the Woodland’s ground clearance to 9.1 inches, an inch higher than the standard RAV4’s 8.1-inch clearance.
The trim continues to feature standard all-wheel drive (AWD), all-terrain tires, raised roof rails, and a tow hitch receiver. New for 2027 are redesigned all-weather floor and cargo mats.
PHEV Models Gain Faster, Easier Charging
Toyota has prioritized charging convenience for its 2027 PHEV models. All plug-in hybrid models in the lineup now feature a new North American Charging System (NACS) port and DC fast-charging capability.
Previously, some RAV4 trims lacked DC fast-charging capability, requiring owners to rely on slower Level 1 and Level 2 charging. For 2027, the addition of DC fast charging and a NACS port provides access to a broader network of public chargers and reduces charging times when a compatible fast charger is available.
Toyota also upgrades the onboard charger to 11 kW on all PHEV trims and relocates the charging port to the driver’s side for all models. The more powerful onboard charger can shorten charging times when connected to compatible Level 2 equipment, while the new port location may make positioning at public charging stations more convenient.
Hybrid 2027 RAV4 models will arrive at Toyota dealerships later this year, and PHEV models are expected to begin arriving in early 2027.
