Nissan’s iconic sports car is getting a handful of updates for the new model year. The 2027 Nissan Z introduces a new NISMO manual transmission option and heritage-inspired design updates. Each trim level sees an increase of around $1,500 compared to the 2026 model year.

NISMO Manual Transmission
Nissan says that in response to demand, the 2027 Nissan Z NISMO will offer a 6-speed manual transmission option. Previously, the NISMO Z variant only offered a 9-speed automatic transmission tuned specifically for this model.
Although the Sport and Performance trims normally come with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, this option was not available on the NISMO. Until now, that is. The NISMO’s new transmission option will come with a short shifter and an upgraded clutch to differentiate it from its counterparts. The manual transmission will now be standard, but the automatic will still be an option.
No matter which transmission option you choose, the starting price will remain the same.
Sport and Performance Trims Get Heritage-Inspired Design Refresh
Going forward, the NISMO will retain its iconic red accent design, but the Performance and Sport trims will receive updates that pay homage to some of Nissan’s classic car designs.
Each features a newly designed front fascia, replacing the large, rectangular grille with a more rounded, slim look and a body-color bar.
All trims will remove “Nissan” badging and replace it with a new, minimalist “Z” logo — a trend becoming popular among automakers.
Enthusiasts might be pleased to see similarities to the original S30-generation Nissan Z in the new exterior color option, Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic. Buyers can also pair the deep green paint with the tan interior upholstery newly available on the Performance trim for a classic look.
Pricing and Availability
The 2027 Nissan Z lineup will be available at dealerships beginning this summer. Pricing is as follows, and includes a $1,245 destination fee.
