Kia has announced pricing for the refreshed 2027 Niro, which is expected to go on sale soon. The compact crossover receives updated styling and new technology features and will now be available only as a hybrid. It was formerly also offered as an all-electric vehicle and as a plug-in hybrid.
Its updates come at a cost, however. The 2027 Niro will start at $31,385, including the $1,495 destination fee. That’s $2,500 more than the 2026 Niro and puts it at the same starting price as Kia’s newest electric SUV, the EV3.
Earlier this summer, Kia released details on the midcycle refresh for the Niro; however, pricing was not available at the time.
The Numbers
With destination fees included, the 2027 Niro lineup starts at $31,385 for the LX and climbs to $40,485 for the SX Touring. A new S trim has been added for 2027. A full breakdown of pricing is found below, and includes the mandatory $1,495 destination fee.

The 2027 Niro’s $2,500 price increase means the hybrid crossover now starts at the same price as Kia’s new EV3 electric SUV, giving shoppers two different approaches to fuel savings.
Despite the Niro’s classification as a subcompact SUV, its newest pricing also inches it closer to larger hybrid SUVs. For example, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 with a standard hybrid powertrain starts at $33,495, including destination fee. While the RAV4 is a larger vehicle with substantially more cargo space, it is only a few thousand dollars more expensive than the base Niro. The subcompact Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, meanwhile, starts at $31,390 (2026 model year) and has all-wheel drive standard, which isn’t available in the font-wheel-drive Niro.
Still, we think the Niro remains a compelling choice for shoppers seeking great fuel efficiency, ample technology and safety systems, and an unbeatable warranty.
