2027 Ford Expedition Gets 30th Anniversary Package

A blue 2027 Ford Expedition with the 30th Anniversary Appearance Package from a front quarter angle view.

Ford’s Expedition has been a family staple for many since its debut in 1996. In the late 1990s, there was a growing demand for larger SUVs that could comfortably accommodate families. Ford responded promptly with the 1997 Expedition.

Now, after 30 years and 3 million sales, Ford is celebrating the Expedition with a limited 30th Anniversary Appearance Package for the 2027 model. Expedition SUVs with this package will be dressed to the nines with a blue metallic exterior, new interior accents, and 30th anniversary badging throughout.

Available on the Platinum trim, this package builds on the Stealth Appearance package that is normally available with the trim. It’s purely aesthetic, so there are no changes under the hood.

The striking Blue Ember metallic paint is not a new choice, but rather a nod to Ford’s performance-oriented sports car: the Mustang Dark Horse. Originally, this color was exclusive to the Dark Horse. However, Ford appears to be making a rare exception for the Expedition’s 30th anniversary.

The package includes 22-inch high-gloss black wheels with 30th anniversary badging on each wheel cap, along with a “30 years” badge on the rear.

Inside, the interior features a lighter gray colorway (salt crystal gray, as Ford calls it). This sharply contrasts with the dark interiors typically found on the Stealth Appearance trim. And of course, just to make sure you don’t forget, 30th anniversary badging is displayed on the center console and the door sills.

No price has been provided yet for the special package. However, for reference, the 2026 Expedition Platinum trim starts at over $77,000, and the Stealth Appearance package costs an additional $3,575. So you might expect to pay a few thousand dollars more for the anniversary special.
