2026 Kia EV6 Price Cut by Thousands

The Kia EV6 seen driving on a road.
  • The stylish electric vehicle starts $5,000 less than last year’s model.
  • High-performance GT trim is not offered in 2026.
  • The 2026 EV6 is mostly a carryover with no major updates.

While we’re almost halfway through the year, Kia is just releasing pricing for the 2026 EV6. The more sharply styled cousin of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric SUV receives a significantly lower starting price for the year, but other than the high-performance GT trim’s absence, there are no major updates to report.

Kia priced the 2026 EV6 starting at $5,000 less than the previous model year (prices include a $1,545 destination charge):

  • EV6 Light Standard Range RWD: $39,445
  • EV6 Light Long Range RWD: $42,745
  • EV6 Light Long Range AWD: $46,745
  • EV6 Wind RWD: $46,345
  • EV6 Wind AWD: $50,345
  • GT-Line RWD: $50,245
  • GT-Line AWD: $54,545

The 2026 EV6 doesn’t see significant changes, but it now comes with a dual-voltage charging cable and a DC fast-charger adapter for models sold in some states. Kia also added plug-and-charge functionality tied to the automaker’s app-based Charge Pass system for streamlined payments.

Kia’s EV6 price cuts don’t come as a surprise, and they follow similar cuts to Hyundai’s Ioniq 5. Americans no longer have access to the $7,500 federal tax credit, but automakers have been lowering the prices of electric vehicles (EVs) to make them more attainable. Last year, Ford also lowered the price of its Mustang Mach-E.

It’s interesting to see pricing come out so late in the year, but the likely explanation is that Kia wanted to be cautious. Economic instability, volatile fuel prices, and uncertain trade terms made it difficult to price a vehicle in a market that hasn’t shown itself to be overly enthusiastic about EVs to begin with.

Those conditions also likely contributed to the GT trim’s indefinite hiatus. Kia builds most EV6 variants at its Georgia plant, but the high-performance GT was an import, subjecting it to tariffs on top of its already range-topping MSRP.
