2025 Mazda3 Gets Less Expensive Base Model

2024 Mazda3 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus in Polymetal Grey Metallic. near an ivy wall.

We rarely get to report that a car is less expensive than it used to be. But the 2025 Mazda3 will carry a lower starting price than its 2024 equivalent.

It’s not just a simple price cut. The compact car, beloved by car enthusiasts for thrilling handling on a budget, gets a price drop thanks to wider availability of the 2.5 S model, which will now be offered on the hatchback variant as well as the sedan.

The Mazda3 2.5 S will start at $25,135 in sedan form ($220 less than the 2024 model) and $26,135 as a hatchback ($740 less than the prior base hatch). Both prices include the mandatory $1,185 delivery fee.

The 2.5 S is light on features but still runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on an 8.8-inch touchscreen and has modern safety and driver assistance aids like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and emergency automatic braking.

Higher trim levels will see their prices rise for the 2025 model year, but the increases are small — $350 or less in every case. The added cost isn’t simple inflation. Most trim levels gain Amazon Alexa Built-In for hands-free connectivity and an available navigation system that receives over-the-air updates.
