The flagship SUV of a luxury automaker is always a magical machine. They accelerate and handle like tiny sports cars but have acres of room. They have every technology you’ve ever heard of in a car and some you haven’t imagined.
In other words, they’re hard to improve on.
But Audi knows its opulent Q8 and high-performance SQ8 have been around a few years and need a nip-and-tuck to keep them interesting.
So, for 2024, they’ll get updates inside and out.
The big change is lighting. New matrix-design LED headlights look jeweled compared to last year’s lights. If they’re not unique enough for you, an optional package adds something Audi calls a “laser light,” though we doubt it can cut through traffic. The package gives you four selectable daytime running light signatures.
The sportier SQ8, in Prestige trim, gets OLED (organic light emitting diode) rear lights with four digital signatures.
New lower air intakes are filled with honeycomb mesh on the SQ8, and both models get real exhausts instead of the fake inserts of last year.
Audi adds three new, bolder color options — Sakhir Gold, Ascari Blue, and Chili Red — to the outside. Inside, the SQ8 is available with a new carbon twill interior design scheme.

Audi also charges a mandatory $1,195 destination fee on all Q8 and SQ8 SUVs.
