Rear view of the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6You may not have seen a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 yet, but you’ll take note of it when you do. The Ioniq 6 — Hyundai’s latest all-electric car — has one of the most identifiable looks on the road. Hyundai has just announced pricing for the uncommon-looking sedan. It will start under $42,000.

A Slippery-Looking, Spacious Electric Car

The Ioniq 6 is a midsize sedan with a peculiarly rounded look that works better in person than in photos. Several battery and motor combinations let buyers choose from 149, 225, or 320 horsepower, with ranges from 240 to 361 miles.

It’s spacious and bright inside — designers made the most of the flat floor (electric vehicles, or EVs, have no transmission, so there’s no need for a hump between the seats) and light-colored materials to create a space with a modern, airy feel.

And its slippery lines give it a distinct personality that sets it apart from most midsize sedans.

Hyundai also charges a mandatory $1,115 delivery fee on all Ioniq 6 sedans. Hyundai builds the Ioniq 6 in Asan, South Korea, so it doesn’t qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit offered on EVs built in North America.
