A new flagship performance version of the 2020 Range Rover Velar has been introduced by Land Rover that boasts V8 power that makes it the fastest and quickest variant in the model range. The 2020 Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition also sports unique exterior cues as well as a revamped suspension and upgraded brakes.
Developed by Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations, the heart of the SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition is a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine making 550 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque. It is capable of propelling the vehicle to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited at 170 mph. The engine has 45 percent more horsepower than the current top spec Range Rover Velar, which is R-Dynamic HSE with its 380 horsepower 3.0-liter supercharged V6.
Visual updates
The 2020 Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic is distinguished by a new front bumper with larger intakes along with a new grille and lower sill moldings. At the rear, a revamped bumper fascia integrates quad exhaust tips. Also setting the vehicle apart are 21-inch alloy wheels, while buyers can opt for even larger 22-inch rims.
The larger wheels help accommodate the upgraded brakes which feature larger diameter discs. The SVAutobiography is also equipped with red calipers to further set the vehicle apart, although buyers can specify a gloss black finish if they choose.

Special inside and out
This high-performance Velar also sports a knurled finish on the metal elements of the two-piece lettering and the exterior is available in six standard Velar colors as well as an exclusive shade called Satin Byron Blue which is contrasted by a Narvik Black roof.
The cabin is fitted with a unique sport steering wheel, special color combinations for the leather upholstery and 20-way adjustable heated/ventilated front seats. Buyers can also opt for a special carbon fiber accent trim package. SVO has also recalibrated the 8-speed transmission, locking rear differential, AWD system as well as reworked the steering and air suspension to optimize ride and handling.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but it’s likely to be well north of a current highest performing 2019 Velar, the R-Dyanamic HSE which starts at $82,030.
