Long known as the “baby” SL, the compact-sized Mercedes-Benz SLC and AMG SLC 43 is nearing the end of its product life. The German automaker will bid Auf Wiedersehen to this 2-seater with the 2020 Mercedes-Benz SLC 300 and AMG SLC 43 when those models arrive in U.S. dealerships next year.

Originally conceived as the SLK, the vehicle debuted as a concept in 1994 and went into production two years later.  The vehicle was renamed the SLC in 2016 when the third generation debuted.  Over 710,000 units have been sold since its launch.

SLC 300 Final Edition

Painted in Selenite Grey, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz SLC 300 Final Edition has an exclusive look from an AMG Styling front bumper with trim strips in silver chrome on the lower section. High-gloss black paint is used on the door handles, mirror caps and rear brace. The vehicle sports SLC Final Edition badging, 18-inch high-gloss black alloy wheels, and a lowered ride height thanks to an AMG tuned sport suspension.

Inside, the cabin is fitted with two-tone Nappa leather in silver pearl and black, gray seat belts and stitching, and carbon fiber pattern embossed leather on the headrests and upper seatbacks. Bright aluminum trim accents are used throughout the cockpit.

SLC 300 models are powered by a  2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cyinder engine making 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes says the car is capable of 0-60 mph acceleration of 5.8 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph.
