Toyota will use the New York Auto Show to reveal the fifth generation of its popular compact SUV, the 2019 Toyota RAV4. The 2-row crossover competes in a crowded segment with rivals that include the Nissan Rogue, Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Equinox and Ford Escape.

The next iteration is likely to be slightly larger than the current vehicle and will likely retain its 176-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder. A hybrid version is likely to follow. The 5-passenger RAV4 is available in either front- or all-wheel drive.
