Adding a new dimension to its flagship sedan line, the 2018 Jaguar XJR575 is set to roll into U.S. showrooms late this year with a healthy bump in horsepower complemented by a selection of functional enhancements and cosmetic tweaks. “This is a performance vehicle, but that doesn’t mean we have had to cut any corners when it comes to comfort or design,” said Jaguar Design Director, Ian Callum in describing the most potent version to date of its primo 4-door.
The hottest production XJ ever
At the heart of the new XJR575 is a modified version of the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that makes 575 horsepower — 25 more than the standard XJR — and also cranks out 517 lb-ft of peak torque compared to the base car’s 502. Still backed by an 8-speed automatic transmission, Jag says that extra muscle trims the XJR’s 0-60 mph time by 0.2 of a second — to a quick 4.2 ticks — and boosts top speed from 174 to 186 mph. Only available in standard wheelbase, the XJR575’s adaptive performance suspension uses the same Electronic Active Differential as the XJR as well as a selection of sophisticated safety features that include Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Park Assist, and Driver Condition Monitoring.

Exterior changes to the 2018 XJR575 are subtle, starting with two special exterior colors, Velocity Blue and Satin Corris Grey, both created by the Special Vehicle Operations group. Adding a bit more aggressive visual edge are a bolder front fascia with larger air intakes with gloss black surrounds, custom side sills, a rear spoiler, and twin hood louvers. Unique 20.0-inch Split-Spoke gloss-black alloy wheels, red-painted brake calipers and custom badges complete the outer enhancements.
