Putting its own brand of ultra-performance top spin on the country’s best-selling pickup, Shelby American has unveiled the 2017 Shelby F-150 Super Snake. Like the firm’s other products, this high-profile hauler will come with a host of bespoke cosmetic and functional upgrades highlighted by a Shelby-engineered supercharged Ford 5.0-liter V8 turned to make 750 horsepower. To ensure it retains elite status, only 150 will be built.

“Carroll Shelby was an early pioneer in high performance street trucks, beginning with his first production version almost 30 years ago,” noted Joe Conway, Co-CEO of Carroll Shelby International and CEO of Shelby American at the truck’s reveal. “With the tremendous demand for our off-road-focused Shelby F-150, fans of the classic Ford Lightning and our 2009 Shelby F-150 Super Snake have clamored for a new generation muscle truck from Shelby. Working closely with Ford Motor Company, Tuscany and other partners, we’re going to offer a limited run of super trucks designed specifically for street duty.”
Available in six factory colors and with the choice of 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive, the F-150 Super Snake features a unique hood, grille, side sills, rear bumper treatment and hard tonneau cover. Chrome 22-inch Shelby alloy wheels wrapped in meaty 305/45 performance tires are also part of the package, as are Shelby graphics and badges. The cabin gets its own selection of upgrades, including a Shelby Registry plaque with its vehicle serial number.

Complementing the extra motive force, the F-150 Super Snake gets a full Shelby performance suspension system with unique springs, shocks and geometry that lowers ride height and sharpens responsiveness. Covered by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty and available through select Ford dealers across the country, the 2017 Shelby F-150 Super Snake starts at $96,880.
