2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo arrives and opens at $176,585

As promised, the upgraded 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo has now officially gone on sale in the U.S. where it will command a stout $176,500 – $54,000 more than the 2017 GT-R Premium model already in showrooms. To be offered in very limited numbers, the new GT-R Nismo shares the same basic cosmetic, structural and comfort/convenience enhancements as the Premium, matching a more robust central core and recalibrated chassis tuning with a quieter, tidier interior trimout that brings new sport buckets and a larger 8.0-inch capacitive center touchscreen as well as a host of Nismo-specific accents. Here too, shifter paddles that control the 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission on this AWD road rager have been repositioned from the steering column to the wheel itself for easier use.

As noted when the 2017 GT-R was revealed earlier this year at the New York Auto Show, the hand-built 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 in the latest Nismo variant continues to make 600 horsepower compared to the 565 count in the standard models, boasting larger turbo units, unique individual ignition controls for each cylinder and a lightweight titanium exhaust system. This ultra-spec version also features an even bolder and more aero-efficient take on the baseline GT-R’s revised bodywork and adds a more focused edge to its recalibrated suspension – a modification Nissan says is good for a 2-percent improvement in the car’s max-effort slalom and cornering.
