2017 Maserati Ghibli Nerissimo: Embracing the dark side
One more excursion into the perpetually popular dark-themed automotive trim realm debuted in New York with the appearance of the 2017 Maserati Ghibli Nerissimo. Exclusively crafted for the U.S. and Canadian markets, total production of the Nerissimo (which translates into “extremely black,") will be available on Ghibli, Ghibli S and Ghibli S Q4 models with total build restricted to just 450 units.
Back to black and then some
To complement its black exterior, the Nerissimo features a like-color grille, door handles and window trim set off with Glossy Black 20-inch Urano alloy wheels and red brake calipers. Inside, this midsize Maserati performance sedan boasts a full black leather interior with red stitching and dark mirror accent trim, sport seats, a sport steering wheel with shifter paddles and Inox sport pedals. All Nerissimo variants will come with remote start, blind spot assist and front/rear parking sensors as well as a console badge noting it is one of 450 special-build cars. The Ghibli S and S Q4 also will feature upgraded Harman Kardon premium audio systems.
There are no changes to the powertrains in any of these exclusive Nerissimo models. The rear-drive Ghibli Nerissimo packs a 345-horsepower Ferrari-designed 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 while the S and S Q4 AWD have a hotter 404-horse version of the engine. Pricing for a 2017 Maserati Ghibli Nerissimo opens at $72,850 including destination, which is $5,650 more than the standard model. The Nerissimo-spec Ghibli S and S4 start at $85,250 and $87,750, respectively, a $6,800 premium.
