Seeking to raise its competitiveness, the Kia Cadenza will be fully redesigned for the 2017 model year. Seen here in factory-issued renderings, the automaker’s full-size 4-door gains a more distinctive appearance while introducing higher quality and refinement. Set to hit showrooms sometime in 2016, the new Cadenza will be lower and wider than the existing model. It will leverage the basic upscale character of the existing model but with more expressive styling set off by aggressive front/rear fascias.

Inside, Kia says the fully recast cabin of Cadenza aims to "set a new standard for luxury and refinement in its class." Expect the same approach to hold true when it comes to upgrading the car’s active/passive safety systems. No word yet on what we can expect to see underhood, but it seems likely some form of the existing 3.3-liter Lambda V6 will continue to be the primary source of motivation.
