Offering a step-up for price-conscious buyers, Hyundai is expanding the 2017 Accent family with a new Value Edition. Based on the SE Sedan, this latest addition to the subcompact Accent backs its 137-horsepower/1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Mechanical upgrades on the Value Edition include rear disc brakes along with 16-inch machine-finished alloy wheels in place of the Accent’s standard steel rims.
The Value Edition features a multifunction steering wheel with audio controls, cruise control, Bluetooth hands-free phone system and a sliding armrest on the center storage bin. The 2017 Hyundai Accent Value Edition stickers at $17,285, a figure that Hyundai notes is just $705 above an automatic Accent SE 4-door and $1,705 more than an Accent SE Sedan with the 6-speed manual gearbox. On the 5-door side of the family, the manual-equipped 2017 Accent SE Hatchback opens at $15,830 with its automatic sibling kicking off at $17,030. The auto-only Accent Sport Hatch starts at $18,330.
