The newest addition to Audi’s crossover/SUV family will be officially revealed at the Geneva Auto Show but the automaker has now released a pair of cloaked images that hints at what the 2017 Audi Q2 will look like. This new subcompact will offer seating for five and slot below the Q3, a vehicle with which it will share the firm’s lightweight MQB modular platform and likely a good number of styling cues as well.

Scaled to rival the BMW X1, Mini Countryman and Lexus NX, Audi says there are no current plans to bring its new Q2 to America. However, sources here have admitted that the addition is at least under consideration. Given the increasing popularity of upmarket subcompact utility vehicles in America, we wouldn’t be too surprised if it did end up landing in showrooms here at some point. If so, it would likely share most of the powertrain components and front-drive/Quattro driveline choices with the A3 family.
