Kia has released an image of a new concept vehicle it will unveil at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show. Rumored to be the next Kia Optima due as a 2016 model, this D Segment sedan is the 11th concept to be penned by the Korean automaker’s European design studio. Saying it "embodies modern design and refined, understated energy," the automaker offered no other mechanical details about its latest one off. However, prototypes of the 2016 Kia Optima were recently spied undergoing cold-weather testing and even under significant camouflage, it’s clear the upcoming Optima will have a sleeker profile and feature bolder but more efficient LED lighting elements front and rear.

Kia’s brief release went on to note its new concept was created "as a spacious and versatile accessory to an active lifestyle, as a purposeful, energetic design study for the style-conscious and as a sanctuary from the stresses of the modern world." That would imply that the fourth-generation Optima will indeed offer even more space and greater comfort. Expected to share a good deal of common platform architecture with the all-new 2015 Hyundai Sonata, the next Optima also should possess even better ride and handling than the current car.
