2016 Hyundai Azera and Genesis updated

Hyundai has upgraded and announced pricing for the two largest sedan models in its lineup: the Azera and the Genesis. Both of these comprehensively equipped 4-doors will be heading to showrooms during the next month.

The 2016 Hyunda Azera once again will be available in standard and Limited trim grades, starting at $34,995 and $40,195, respectively. Those figures reflect increases of $100 and $1,100 beyond the 2015 models. While the base 2016 Azera carries over unchanged, the Limited adds an Electronic Parking Brake as well as Smart Cruise Control with Stop/Start capability. Both Azera variants continue to be fitted with a 293-horsepower/3.3-liter V6 mated to a 6-speed automatic. Azeras are also equipped with leather upholstery, navigation, a 14-speaker/550-watt Infinity Logic7 Surround Sound Premium audio system, Hyundai’s Blue Link telematics and Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Lane Change Assist. Beyond the aforementioned 2016 enhancements, the Azera Limited also boasts HID Xenon headlamps, larger wheels and tires, a panoramic glass sunroof, manual/power sunshades, Rear Park Assist, Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Warning. 

Genesis upgrades

Available in three trims, the primo 2016 Hyundai Genesis cranks up its curb appeal by adding HID headlamps and LED running lights to all trim levels and making the "ultra-premium" LED fog lights that are standard on the V8 model a new V6 option along with bundling Automatic Emergency Braking, a Head’s-up Display, Blind-Spot Detection, Cabin CO2 Sensor and Lane-Keep Assist into a new Active Safety Features package. Powered by a 311-horse/3.8-liter V6 backed by a paddle-shift 8-speed automatic, the rear-drive and all-wheel drive versions of 2016 Genesis 3.8 variants now open at $39,700 and $42,200, each being $750 more than its 2015 counterpart.

Packing a 420-horsepower/5.0-liter Tau V8 also paired with a paddle-equipped 8-speed automatic, the rear-drive-only 2016 Genesis 5.0 starts at $54,800. Although that represents a $2,350 hike, it also reflects a new "all-in" status for Hyundai’s range topper. The 2016 5.0 variant now comes with the Continuous Damping Control suspension, full-color head-up display, Premium Navigation with a 9.2-inch HD screen, 17-speaker Lexicon Discrete Logic 7 Surround Audio, a power trunk lid and dual-mode climate control with CO2 sensor that were previously part of the $3,250 Ultimate Package.
