As the first convertible model to grace the division’s lineup in 25 years, the all-new 2016 Buick Cascada will open at $33,990 when it goes on sale early next year. Revealed at the Detroit Auto show in January, this sleek compact 2+2 droptop is related to its European cousin, the Opel Cascada, but sports a its own design cues highlighted by a unique grille treatment not shared with any other Buick.
Spun from GM’s global Delta platform, the front-drive Cascada will have a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine at launch. Developing 200 horsepower and 208 lb-ft of torque that can be upped to 221 lb-ft for short periods using an overboost function, it will be backed by a 6-speed automatic transmission.
