Simplifying the lineup of its flagship sedan while introducing additional buyer appeal, the 2015 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T Limited Edition is set to hit the showrooms this month. Priced at $24,815, VW’s impressively equipped newcomer directly replaces both the existing Passat 1.8T Wolfsburg Edition and 1.8T SE models, which open at $25,195 and $27,100, respectively.

Powered by a 170-horse/1.8-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine matched with a standard 6-speed automatic transmission, the new Limited Edition starts $1,555 more than an automatic entry-level Passat 1.8T S. However, it also comes with $2,555 worth of additional features. Exterior changes include 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, front fog lights and bright window surrounds while the cabin gains V-tex leatherette seating surfaces and heated front buckets, leather-wrapped steering wheel/parking brake/shift knob, a power 8-way driver’s seat with power lumbar, keyless access/push-button start, 8-speaker touchscreen audio with SiriusXM satellite radio and a rearview camera.

No changes are in store for the remainder of the 2015 Passat family, which will carry on in 1.8T Sport, 1.8T SEL Premium, and 3.6 SEL Premium trims along with TDI Clean Diesel SE and SEL Premium variants.
