Filling in the last remaining piece of the puzzle, Honda has announced that pricing for the new 2014 Accord Hybrid will open just below $30,000 when it rolls into showrooms on October 31st. While that figure places it nearly $2,000 above the 2014 Ford Fusion S Hybrid and about $3,000 more than a Camry LE Hybrid, this newest member of the Accord lineup does boast a long list of premium standard features and earns a 50-mpg city rating from the EPA — the highest figure for any mid-size 4-door sedan – which it matches with a 45-mpg highway mark. The Accord Hybrid’s 47 mpg combined stat equals the gas/electric Fusion’s collective number and bests the Camry by nine mpg and the Hyundal Sonata and Kia Optima Hybrids by 12 mpg.

This eco-friendly Accord variant will come in three trim levels, with even the entry model – which closely parallels conventional Accord EX spec -fitted with a full array of power assists, dual-zone automatic climate control, 10-way power driver’s seat, 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system, rearview camera, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, USB/iPod integration, Pandora streaming audio, SMS text message capability and custom 16-inch alloy wheels as well as a blind spot warning system, a feature not even offered on any of its rivals.

Stepping up to the $32,695 Accord Hybrid EX-L brings leather upholstery, power/heated front seats, power moonroof and cloud-based HondaLink connectivity with advanced safety features including Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning systems. Topping the range, the Accord Touring Hybrid rings in at $35,695 and raises the feature bar even further with a voice-activated Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with FM traffic data and hard disk drive audio memory, Adaptive Cruise Control and LED headlights set off by unique blue-chrome bezels. That figure still puts it $4,875 below the 2014 Accord Hybrid Plug-in that went on sale earlier this year.
