Offering an initial glimpse of what’s to come, this styling sketch of the 2014 Bentley Flying Spur has just been released by the factory along with a brief, modestly revealing video. Save for noting that more details about the vehicle would be released on February 20th, Bentley offered no additional information about the recast primo 4-door sedan that’s based on a stretched version of the Continental GT/GTC. However, even a quick look shows the next-gen Flying Spur is morphing into smoother and sleeker operator that mixes a number of evocative body shapes and contours from its sportier GT/GTC cousins with more formal character lines from Bentley’s top-line Mulsanne sedan.

Given the timing of this announcement, it seems likely that the new Bentley Flying Spur will be making its first public appearance at the Geneva Auto Show in March. It’s potential arrival date in America and whether the Flying Spur will be offered with both the existing twin-turbo W12 engine as well as the more fuel-efficient twin-turbo V8 now available in the Continental GT/GTC models remain unanswered questions.
